Sony Company Entertainment has created an innovation in terms of portable gaming which is why it was dubbed the New Generation Portable entertainment system or NGP. The NGP which is more commonly known as the PSP2 Vita harnesses the power of cutting edge technology to provide gamers an astonishing portable gaming experience.

The state of the art graphical capability of the PSP2 is made possible by its quad core processor. Before Sony announced that they were working on a successor for the original PlayStation Portable, they hinted that they were working on a new game console that has the same graphical capabilities of the original Xbox. However, now that they have announced that it was the PSP Vita that they were working on, the preview shows that the graphical capabilities of the NGP exceed that of the original Xbox.

In fact, it is far more accurate to say that the PS Vita’s graphics are almost at PS3 level. Of course the PS Vita can never match the graphical quality of its large older brother but its capabilities are still unbelievable considering it is a portable game console that first perfectly between your hands.

Sony has also managed to implement the usage of analog sticks into the PSP2 Vita. This feature will surely please gamers who prefer smooth and accurate controls. In fact, the lack of analog sticks is one of the major complaints that Sony received from consumers when they released the original PlayStation Portable.

It is good to know that that SCE takes user feedback seriously. The PSP2 also utilizes an oval shaped design so that it will fit perfectly into your pocket. This feature is perfect the perfect solution to the relatively large the 5 inch OLED screen that the PSP Vita boasts. The PS Vita no longer utilizes Universal Media Discs or UMD and instead the games will be distributed on NVG memory cards.

These flash cards have a higher memory capacity than the UMD and they are also significantly smaller since they are similar to SD cards. This feature make storing PS Vita games easier since these flash cards are a lot easier to manage than their UMD counterparts.

The interface of the PSP2 Vita has also undergone a vast redesign since it utilizes a touch based user interface. Like the original PlayStation Portable, the PSP2 can also access the PlayStation Network. This can be done by either using 3G technology or merely connecting to your Wi-Fi transmitter. Be informed that there are currently two types of PSP Vita which includes the more expensive 3G and Wi-Fi compatible version and the cheaper Wi-Fi only version.

Gamers can still play original PSP games but they must use the PlayStation network to download original PSP games since the PS Vita is no longer compatible with UMD. Even though gamers are already excited to purchase the NGP, this portable game console will only be made available to Japan at December 2011. Unfortunately for westerners, the PS Vita will only be made available for them early next year.
